The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Will Make Its Race Debut in July

The new Mercedes-AMG GT3 will finally make its racing debut next month. The event that it will be joining is the Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring or VLN long-distance championship. According to Autosport, the special variant of the Mercedes-AMG GT will make its appearance in the round four of the VLN on July 4. It will be driven by the test and development drivers of Mercedes namely Bernd Schneider, Jan Seyffarth and Thomas Jager. It should be noted that the car will serve as the replacement of the famous Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. A new power package for the Mercedes-AMG GT is currently being developed by the RENNtech, as shown on a report from motorward.com. The results of the software upgrade provided by RENNtech for the AMG GT in the initial stage of the modification were rather impressive. While the power package was developed in the Florida branch of the tuning company, the software upgrade was developed in Germany at the Autobahn and Nurburgring. The three-pointed star marque just confirmed that its mid-range Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the G 500, will be getting an engine update starting next year. According to Digital Trends, the mid-range model from longest-running SUV series of the brand will be ditching its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine in favor of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 power unit found within the Mercedes-AMG GT.
