Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID Awarded A+ Efficiency Rating, Environmental Certificate

The Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID has just been awarded a Class A+ energy efficiency rating along with an Environmental Certificate after going through the TUV Sud Life Cycle Assessment. The vehicle passed the tests conducted by the independent inspection body. It has been projected that the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID produces 23 percent less CO2 emissions compared to an E 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. That’s over the vehicle’s life cycle, from being a finished vehicle to being used for over 250,000 kilometers, and even through to recovery. Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class Petrol Engines Already Meet Euro 6 Standard

The Euro 6 vehicle emissions standard won’t be in place until September 1, 2014, but right now, the petrol engines for the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class vehicles already pass those requirements. In addition, the engines are also good enough to meet new limits placed on petrol engines due 2017. The models include the A 180, the A 200, and the A 250, together with their B-Class counterparts. 2012 Merc S350 BlueTec 4MATIC Set for Detroit Auto Show Debut

Mercedes-Benz is slated to debut the all-new 2012 S350 BlueTec 4MATIC at the upcoming 2011 Detroit Auto Show, giving joy to American diesel fans for the new year. The vehicle, touted as an entry-level model for Merc’s S-Class, sports the BlueTec V6 turbo power plant coupled with 4MATIC all-wheel drive functionality. The BlueTec can not only satiate power requirements by fans, but also offers a greener alternative compared to most diesels. Atego Bluetec Recognized for Sustainability

We may be used to Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance sports cars getting all the attention and the awards, but other vehicles from the automaker are also worthy of accolades. The Mercedes-Benz Atego Bluetec hybrid light rigid truck added another feather on the Mercedes cap by winning the German Sustainability Award. The Atego Bluetec relied on strong numbers in terms of fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions. These are largely thanks to the technology that powers the vehicle. Mercedes Benz GLK Diesel on the way

Diesel engine cars are becoming a preference to a good number of people because of its economy in fuel consumption as well as much quieter engine operation. Mercedes-Benz USA President Ernst Lieb was quoted as saying that the 2012 GLK will also be available with a 2.2-liter Bluetec diesel. It will cost a few thousand dollars more than its gasoline powered counterpart. Don’t you love it when you visit a European country, especially Germany – where they utilize Mercedes-Benz vehicles as taxi? At the Europe Taxi Fair 2010, held in Cologne, Mercedes-Benz presented to the public their latest Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
