This Beijing Auto BJ100 Uses the Mercedes GLK Platform

Would you believe that the mammoth Sport Utility Vehicle above, called the Beijing Auto BJ100, was based from the China-made Mercedes GLK? According to CarNewsChina, the chiseled vehicle was indeed based from our beloved SUV with the three-pointed star logo. The BJ100 debuted at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in its concept form. The targeted production of the SUV is next year. The source claimed this abomination was made by Beijing Auto, and its platform utilized the one used by the Mercedes GLK that is manufactured in China by Beijing-Benz. Mercedes Vision G-Code Crossover Concept Unveiled

Coinciding with the opening of the Mercedes-Benz R&D center in Beijing, China, the three-pointed star brand also released its new subcompact crossover concept dubbed as the Mercedes Vision G-Code. According to the press release of the company, the concept crossover aims to attract younger Asians into the brand. Shorter than the Mercedes GLA Based from the images and information provided by the German automaker, the G-Code will be designed as a Sports Utility Coupe. Rumors are starting to heat up for the 2012 Paris Motor Show, scheduled to start at the end of the month. Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the Concept B-Class Electric Drive vehicle at the motor show, which will see a 100-kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery mounted on a B-Class. This EV concept builds on the B-Class driving experience, enhancing the focus on family use and everyday transportation. The motor provides the vehicle with a range of 200 kilometers. Shown live at the Detroit Auto Show was smart’s For-Us concept vehicle. The pickup truck concept is a refreshing departure from the retrimmed and basically repainted smart vehicles that we are growing tired of seeing.
