Inside Look at the Mercedes-Benz GLB

New spy shots reveal the interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB. As expected, the crossover is inheriting many elements found in the cabin of the A-Class hatchback and sedan. The interior photos of the GLB featured at Carscoops did not surprise us a bit. We are not complaining though because the tech and detailing of the A-Class’ cockpit are excellent, considering that the range is positioned at the bottom of the Mercedes luxury cars hierarchy. Although there are some black fabrics covering the side panels and dashboard of the GLB, we can see the same steering, infotainments system, controls and turbine-looking air conditioning vents of the A-Class. The interior rear shots… Continue Reading »

U.S. Regulator Starts Investigation on Mercedes-Benz Recalls

In the past 18 months, Mercedes-Benz recalls have numbered over 1.4 million. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) has started a probe on the German automaker for possible compliance issues. According to Reuters, a communication from NHTSA dated October 22, 2018, alleged that Mercedes may have missed the deadlines in sending letters to their customers affected by recalls. The agency also claimed that Mercedes failed to furnish them copies of the said letters on time. Furthermore, the German luxury brand appeared to have omitted important details in their reports such as the estimated percentage of problematic units under the recalls as well as their recall plans. NHTSA complained… Continue Reading »

Lewis Hamilton: The Second Most Successful Driver in F1

Lewis Hamilton finally took his spot as one of the Formula 1 greats when he grabbed his fifth World Drivers’ Championship (WDC) at the 2018 Mexican Grand Prix last Sunday. He is now tied with Juan Manuel Fangio in the record books in terms of having the most championships in the sport. The 2018 F1 season saw a rocky start for Mercedes as Ferrari started strong with Sebastian Vettel winning the first two races. The German went on to challenge the supremacy of Hamilton on several occasions, and he even led the F1 Drivers’ Standings at some points of the season. However, the resiliency and consistency of Hamilton in scoring… Continue Reading »

Meet the Gruma Hunter Based on the Mercedes-Benz X-Class

Gruma Automobile recently unveiled its modified Mercedes-Benz X-Class called the “Gruma Hunter”. As the vehicle’s name says, it was made to cater to the needs of professional and leisure hunters. Gruma is an aftermarket shop that specializes in customizing Mercedes vehicles. So when its specialists got their hands on the X-Class, they did a great job in improving the design, particularly the utility, of the pickup. First, Gruma gave the X-Class a dark matte jungle green wrap. The color looks a bit like the one used on the Mercedes-AMG GT R, also referred to as the “Beast of Green Hell”, with just a darker hue. The shop chose the theme… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Claims Nurburgring Lap Record

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door just went around the 12.8-mile track of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Using the AMG GT 63 S version of the car, it set a lap time of 7:25.41. Mercedes immediately went on to claim bragging rights as the automaker said that it’s new record set by a four-door production car. The claim of Mercedes is hotly contested by Jaguar though. In 2017, the XE SV Project 8 of the British automaker finished a whole lap on the endurance track in 7:21.23. Like the AMG GT 4-Door, it is a four-door production car, although limited only in 300 samples. The feat of Jaguar was achieved by removing the… Continue Reading »

G-Power Mercedes-AMG C63 S Takes Off From 0 to 62 MPH in 3.4 Seconds

The Mercedes-AMG C63 S is the most potent offering of the C-Class range. Its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine produces 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for an acceleration of 0-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. However, those who are looking to squeeze more power out of it can turn to the latest tuning package released by G-Power. The G-Power package increases the output of the C63 S engine to a total of 789 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. That’s 286 hp and 221 lb-ft more than the fresh-from-the-factory figures of the vehicle. The power boost propels the car from 0-62 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds…. Continue Reading »

Wald International Takes the Mercedes C-Class to the Dark Side

Wald International just revealed its new package for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The new program of the Japanese tuner gives the car a dark and menacing aura. As we have seen in Wald’s previous Black Bison projects involving vehicles such as the Mercedes-AMG GT S and the Mercedes-AMG GLC, their cosmetic enhancements do not offer wild aero kits. However, the subtle changes are enough to transform the character of the Mercedes C-Class into something else. The body kit of Wald replaces the chrome accents of the front grille, bumper linings, front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and wheels with blacked out elements. Meanwhile, the exhaust tips still come with the specialist’s custom… Continue Reading »
