A spy shot of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLS.

A new spy video of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLS makes its way on the Internet again. The video shows the upcoming SUV of the three-pointed star brand with very minimal camouflage.

This time, the wrap only covers the auto’s bumpers, lighting systems, grilles and badges. The hood is visible now, showing us the fine lines in the bonnet of the SUV.

As a recap, the Mercedes GLS is basically the facelifted version of the existing GL. The nomenclature was only revised based on the new naming system made by its brand to better reflect the vehicle’s relationship with the S-Class core series.

As seen in the video below, there is a subtle cosmetic enhancement in the hood of the GLS compared to its predecessor. Expect a few changes in the design of the covered portions as well. Other than these, the rest of the auto’s exterior will remain the same.

For the interior, it will likely get a more updated upholstery to improve its comfort and luxury features. Look forward to an upgrade in the infotainment system of the SUV as well.

Going to the engine options, the GLS will most probably carry the same powertrains offered by the S-Class sedan. The same treatment will be given to its range-topping AMG Sport models, and its ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach version, if the company chooses to go in that direction as it hinted earlier.
