Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLS Takes the Cold Climate Challenge

The current Mercedes-Benz GLS is but a facelifted version of the Mercedes-Benz GL sport utility vehicle. Therefore, from the second-generation model of the GL to the present GLS, nothing much has changed. However, new spy videos have revealed that the large luxury SUV of Mercedes is finally getting a next-generation model. The video above shows the GLS going around a snowy terrain and under a fair weather. The activity is to test how the different components of the SUV will react to various temperatures, including extreme conditions. The prototype in the video above is not too different from the ones we have been seeing earlier. The vehicle is still clad… Continue Reading »

Ideal Vehicle for Hauling Kids: Van Vs SUV

It’s a legitimate question and one that has parents all over the country arguing which is better between a van vs SUV. Minivans are traditionally considered outdated and lame while SUVs are sleek and stylish. Both have their strengths, and a few potential weaknesses as well. Third-Row Seating Minivans have always had third-row seating. It comes standard and is easily accessible with either a second-row bench or second-row captain’s chairs. Some minivans have an optional third seat in the second row, giving you seating for eight, which is ideal for a large family. Many SUVs also come with third-row seating such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS, though typically not standard. You… Continue Reading »

2020 Mercedes-Maybach GLS Spied on the Road

A new GLS variant was recently caught in a couple of spy shots while it was being tested on the road. However, the vehicle appeared to be fitted with more luxurious features. That leads us to believe that it may be the much-anticipated Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The revelation of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury early this year was an indication that the three-pointed star brand was looking to challenge the ultra-luxurious Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Since the GLS sits on top of the luxury SUVs of Mercedes, it is the most likely candidate to get the Maybach treatment—similar to the company’s S-Class flagship car. There have been hints that the GLS… Continue Reading »

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Spy Shots Surface Online

The testing of the new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 continues. The new spy shots of the large sport utility vehicle appear online again. The prototype appears covered in a heavy black and white camouflage so it is hard to make out what Mercedes is up to with the high-performance GLS. The misty background does not help either. However, looking very closely at the images reveals that the upcoming AMG GLS 63 will feature a lot of changes compared to the present version of the model. The most noticeable upgrade comes from the front grille. It should be noted that the current model features a double horizontal grille styling. The new one replaces… Continue Reading »

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Spied on a Test Drive

There’s a sighting of another Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle in the works. This time, it’s the 2020 model of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. Even with the heavy zebra camouflage covering almost everything, the dimensions, body shape, stance, and windows design definitely suggest that what we are looking at is most likely the GLS SUV. However, those who are very familiar with the brand might notice that the auto is a high-performance variant. We have already seen the 2019 GLS in another spy video earlier. It should be recalled that Mercedes didn’t even bother hiding the front grille of the vehicle. The one here though has its radiator grille covered, which hints… Continue Reading »

Hofele Design Becomes a Contractual Partner of Mercedes-Benz

It’s been a while since we last heard from Hofele Design. Recently, the German tuner announced that they have partnered with Mercedes-Benz. According to Hofele, they have become a contractual partner of Daimler AG for its Mercedes passenger cars last January. After seeing the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and Mercedes-Benz G-Class getting upgrades from the tuner, they are now turning their attention towards the saloon models of the German automaker. The new partnership allows them to officially work on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and even the ultra-luxurious Maybach units. As we have witnessed so far, Hofele offers both engine boost and styling enhancements to the autos they get their hands… Continue Reading »
