“Always restless”: the Mercedes-Benz GLA market launch campaign in Germany

With an emphasis on mobility, Mercedes-Benz is launching the new GLA with a campaign in Germany that’s under the banner “always restless”—something that highlights the boldness and flexibility of the compact SUV line. According to Mercedes-Benz Cars Head of Marketing Communications Dr Jens Thiemer, the new GLA is one “in which to take on all the hurdles of everyday life” and as such, the campaign will feature the vehicle in a variety of situations and settings, from city driving to travels on deserts and gravel. The Forgotten Roadtrip Interactive Story

Today, Mercedes-Benz released an interactive adventure story in its webpage. The story involves a man named Ryan who appeared to have forgotten everything that happened to him the previous night—similar to Hangover, except that he wasn’t wasted on alcohol or drugs. At the start of the story, a blurry flashback involving a girl and a confrontation appears. Then, the protagonist wakes up to himself lying face down in the hot desert sand. How the Endurance of the New Mercedes GLA-Class was Tested

The things that the new Mercedes GLA-Class had to endure during its endurance trial were definitely tough. For nine months, it was continuously pitted against harsh on-road and off-road conditions to see whether it is ready for series production. For nine grueling months, the Mercedes GLA had to undergo a track and field test at the Nürburgring Nordschleif and the harsh road conditions in the Alps. Chris Harris of /Drive pitted the Mercedes E63 AMG, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and the Jaguar SFR-S in a three-way dance to test which one would perform best on certain conditions. The common denominator of these cars is that they all have engines with outputs more than 550 hp.
