Lewis Hamilton has the potential to win more world championships in his Formula One career. According to former F1 driver Nigel Mansell in his interview featured in Sky Sports, the Briton could even break the seven world championship wins of Michael Schumacher during his career. Mansell admitted that he was a big fan of Hamilton. In his assessment, the reigning world title holder is doing an outstanding job. He said that with the help of Mercedes, the 30-year old driver could exceed the record held by Schumacher. The F1 legend added that Mercedes is a powerful force in the sport nowadays, which could really propel Hamilton to greater heights. However, Mansell noted… Continue Reading »

Lewis Hamilton cruises to Canadian GP victory as Mercedes clinches another one-two finish

Looks like Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton got over his Monaco heartbreak easily. He drove as well as he could have at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend on his way to a race win from pole position, ahead of the fourth Mercedes one-two finish of the season. Hamilton finished  a comfortable 2.285 seconds ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg, putting some separation (7 more points) between the two competitors. The defending champion is ahead in the championship race, 151 points to 134 after seven races. Williams’ Valtteri Bottas joined the two Mercedes drivers on the podium. F1 Tech is Helping Mercedes-Benz a Lot

Formula One Group chief executive Bernie Ecclestone aired his negative comments about the turbo V6 power units currently used in F1. According to his interview with Motorsport.com, the engines were not delivering for the sport, because they were costly, not loud enough, and they have no relevance in the road car industry. It should be noted that most teams have resisted attempts to get back to the old V8 power units of the sport as they are now recognizing the efficiency of the new engines. As for the engine sound, it hasn’t been resolved so far. But measures have been taken in the past to address it. On the other hand, Mercedes-Benz reacted… Continue Reading »

The Mercedes F1 W06 race car, also known as the Silver Arrow, will be bringing in its upgraded engine in the upcoming Formula One Canadian Grand Prix. According to the interview of Lotus CEO Matthew Carter with Sky Sports, Mercedes used up tokens to introduce some tweaks in its hybrid power unit. If it is true, then we might be seeing an improved performance in Mercedes-AMG Petronas again. It could further extend its lead in the races to come and give its major rivals more reasons to whine again about how the sport has been getting boring recently due to the continuous dominance of Mercedes. Based on the report, Mercedes,… Continue Reading »

F1: Rosberg upsets Hamilton to win 2015 Monaco GP

Nico Rosberg claimed his third-straight Monaco Grand Prix victory, after a questionable decision to pit Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton’s car when the safety car went out caused the latter to re-enter the race in third, putting the Briton’s dominating weekend to waste. This marks the second consecutive race win for Rosberg, while the team is now six out of six when it comes to getting both drivers to finish on the podium. Hamilton had once again built up a considerable gap from out in front, at least for a good first 64 laps until Max Verstappen’s accident prompted the safety car to come out. It was then that the decision was… Continue Reading »

New Contract of Lewis Hamilton Could Be Worth £120 Million

Lewis Hamilton may be on his way to finally sealing a new contract with his team. The Daily Mail claimed it might be what the Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver and reigning World Champion in Formula One meant when he said, “I will have some news for you in Monaco,” after last Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix. If the story is true, then it could signal the end of Hamilton’s excruciating contract negotiations, which he stated earlier as “A pain in the back side.” It should be noted that the champ was the one personally overseeing his contract negotiations after he ended his association with Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment. Hamilton was the one… Continue Reading »

With the win, Rosberg has now cut some of his teammate’s lead in the drivers’ standings, now just at 20 points (91 to 111). Hamilton immediately went over to Rosberg to hug and congratulate his teammate after the race was done. “It was a perfect weekend – being on pole and winning the race,” said Rosberg, whose last win came at the… Continue Reading »
