Mercedes-Benz to get cool new €1B plant in Kecskemét, Hungary

Daimler is set to invest a whopping €1 billion ($1.1 billion) to build a new Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét, Hungary. The planned facility is expected to generate some 2,500 jobs in the area. Of course, that’s when the plant starts producing vehicles, which is estimated for sometime around the end of this decade. Initial preps for the facility will start sometime within the current year. This will be the second Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét. The company has already announced a new round of investment in order to expand as well as upgrade the existing facility. A new version of the Mercedes-AMG GT just surfaced online. Following the successful launching of the Mercedes-AMG GT R, a camouflaged variant of the GT was spotted again. The spy photos, show the car with a soft top, which suggests that a roadster model of it is in the works. According to reports, it will probably come out next year with a 2018 model year. Hamilton wins 2016 German Grand Prix

A disastrous start at the 2016 German Grand Prix cost Nico Rosberg three places right away. Then off went Lewis Hamilton to his sixth win in seven races. Rosberg actually managed to fight back into a battle for P2. Halfway through, however, he drove Red Bull’s Max Verstappen off the track, a maneouver for which the stewards slapped Rosberg a five-second penalty. The German wasn’t too thrilled at that, with some very tough remarks at the end of the race. “Without the penalty I was in front of the Red Bulls; with the penalty I couldn’t challenge them.” Of course, maybe Rosberg should remember not to run people off the track next… Continue Reading »

Following the launch of the Mercedes-AMG GT R, it appears the luxury vehicle manufacturer has another GT model up its sleeve. Mercedes-Benz Pickup Truck Will Be Unveiled in 2017

While BMW is preparing to reveal its own pickup truck range, Mercedes-Benz has already scheduled the unveiling of its pickup truck in 2017. The Mercedes-Benz pickup truck will be carrying the GLT name and it will be tagged with a 2018 model year. As reported earlier, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLT will be based on the platform used by the latest Nissan NP300 Navara.
