Mansory tunes the engine of this Mercedes S-Class to achieve up to 800 hp output.

Mansory is definitely not getting much love from automotive sites for its works involving Mercedes units. Quoting Motor Authority’s comment about the tuner, “The styling is typically far too in-your-face in the worst way, turning exotic, luxury, or high-performance machines into rolling bits of poorly planned pop art.” That is a bit harsh, isn’t it?

However, as they say, sometimes beauty is skin deep. So, that means, one has to look what’s inside the shell of something to appreciate the real score within. In the case of the new Mansory Mercedes S-Class, the styling—despite the more subtle approach this time—may still not be winning any beauty contests, but looking under the hood will really blow your mind.

Recently, Mansory tuned the already impressive 5.5-liter AMG biturbo V8 engine of the Mercedes S63 AMG. From the original 577 hp output of the sports luxury sedan, the tuner added around 223 hp more to arrive at an overall power of 800 hp. The torque of the unit was also driven up to an overall 1200 Nm.

The top speed of the Mansory-configured Mercedes S-Class is electronically-locked at 186 miles per hour. All the upgrades enable it to go from zero to 60 miles per hour for a span of around 3.2 seconds only. That’s way lower than the stock S63 AMG engine’s 3.9-second sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour.
