A Mercedes-Benz Recall is Underway Again

Mercedes-Benz has recently been put in a bad light again to U.S. customers. According to Yahoo! News, some vehicles of the three-pointed star brand have been found by U.S. safety regulators to be in danger of oil leaks. Due to the findings of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the report said Mercedes-Benz is recalling 4,871 of its sedans and SUV models. The affected units were from the E-Class, M-Class, and GLK-Class ranges. The model years of the vehicle’s mentioned were from 2014 to 2015. Daimler Recalls All New Models of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Daimler is recalling the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class models, says a new report from Bloomberg Businessweek. According to the report, the recall is due to the faulty airbags of the new cars. Wolfgang Zanker, a spokesperson for the company, explained through the news source that the passenger airbags of the new models of the A-Class have the tendency not to inflate properly in the time of an accident. He added that the problem is estimated to have affected around 6,000 cars in Germany where most of the vehicles were sold. MBUSA Issues Recall For A Few E350 And E550 Coupes

In case you’re not yet aware, Mercedes-Benz USA has issued a recall for some 2012 E350 and E550 Coupes. Specifically, for those cars manufactured between April 2, 2012 and June 29, 2012. The cause for the recall is the discovery of an improper stitching procedure affecting the right window curtain airbag. On affected vehicles, there is the possibility that the window curtain air bag may not work as designed. The improper stitching will not actually affect the deployment of the airbag. Rather, the stitching that was not done to spec may cause the deployed airbag to deflate more quickly, thus reducing the protection that the airbag would actually provide. This… Continue Reading »

Public Service: Recall of the G-Class and M-Class W166’s Weather Floor Mats

Recalls were announced by Mercedes-Benz, the first one is for the all-weather floor mats of the M-Class W166. As their press release said, it is necessary to recall the mats since it comes in contact with the gas pedal and it could cause it to jam. This affects the all-weather floor mats that were produced from July 2011- July 2012, in which 8700 units were sold in the United States and 2800 were sold in Germany.
