Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon Spied on the Road for the First Time

Giancarlo Perlas October 3, 2022

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan has been making its appearance in spy shots since December 2021. However, it’s only now that its wagon variant is making its spy video debut, thanks to walkoART videos on YouTube.

The video for the all-new E-Class wagon shows the auto waiting for the green light at an intersection. It is also joined by other Mercedes cars in the background.

The E-Class wagon looks as much as its sedan counterpart except, of course, from the B-pillar all the way to the extra D-pillar on the tail. In addition, the presence of the added pillar makes the estate longer than the executive version of the vehicle.

Overall, the new E-Class is expected to resemble a downsized version of the S-Class flagship sedan of Mercedes. The car will also have a smaller front grille and thinner headlamps than the outgoing model. And speaking of the headlights, it seems that part doubles as a turn signal for the vehicle, too. Other changes are noticeable in the taillamps and the rear hatch.

The new E-Class will likely receive the most revision on the inside. As hinted by previous spy shots of its sedan variant, it will at least carry the same equipment found on the new C-Class including a huge, portrait-style, central touchscreen supported by a more advanced MBUX infotainment system.

As for the powertrain, the E-Class wagon should mirror the same offerings of its sedan model. With that, expect the same mild-hybrid turbocharged engine in gasoline and diesel as well as a possible plug-in hybrid in its selection.
