Mercedes-Benz 190E Takes a Mercedes-AMG C63 Engine

The production of the Mercedes-Benz 190E can be traced back to 1982. More than 30 years later, the spotlight over the car seemed to have dimmed until the Frankenstein Benz happened. The Frankenstein Benz is the project of Piper Motorsport that features a Mercedes 190E with the power of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sedan. The work took five years in the making, which dates back to October 9, 2013. What took them so long? Apparently, putting the drivetrain of the C63 AMG into a 190E is not as easy as it sounds. Piper Motorsport said that the work involves putting the engine, transmission, driveline suspension, brakes, firewall, dash, electronics and floor pan… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz Goes All-In on Electric Vehicles with More Than $12B Investment

Mercedes-Benz just launched the Mercedes-Benz EQC crossover on September 4, 2018, virtually marking the beginning of its assault on the electric vehicle segment of the market. The move puts the German luxury car maker head-to-head against the California-based Tesla. According to Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, they have originally planned to invest €10 billion ($12 billion) for their EV push. However, he told reporters that they have spent “more than that”. He didn’t specify the figures though. “There is no alternative to betting on electric cars, and we’re going all in,” Zetsche stated. “It is starting right now,” he added. The arrival of the Mercedes-Benz EQC seems to be a bad time… Continue Reading »

Spy Vid Takes a Peek at the Interior of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

A new spy video of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class just emerged. This time, the clip takes a peek at the interior of the upcoming flagship sedan of the three-pointed star marque. Last month, we saw spy shots of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class while undergoing testing. The earlier spy video shows the auto in a heavy zebra camouflage and bulges that hide its true shape. Even the door handles were hidden, which makes us wonder what is happening on that part. What we know so far is that the 2020 S-Class will get more legroom because of its seemingly longer wheelbase compared to the current model of the car. Then due to its… Continue Reading »

After seeing the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and Mercedes-Benz G-Class getting upgrades from the tuner, they are now turning their attention towards the saloon models of the German automaker. The new partnership allows them to officially work on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and even the ultra-luxurious Maybach units. As we have witnessed so far, Hofele offers both engine boost and styling enhancements to the autos they get their hands… Continue Reading »

Getting Your Hands On The New Mercedes-Benz CLA

Since the launch of the Mercedes-Benz CLA at the North American International Auto Show in January 2013, many car lovers have been hoping to get their hands on one of the new coupé style vehicles from the German manufacturer. However, Mercedes-Benz later mulled on discontinuing its production, and the American public was left in turmoil waiting for a positive news.
