Something Fast is Coming: It’s the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe

Giancarlo Perlas July 10, 2015

Last week, we covered the teaser video of Mercedes-AMG hinting that “Something Fast is Coming.” While the clip uploaded by the company in YouTube did not show any car or even any part of it in the teaser, it did carry a familiar sound.

Tuning up the volume a bit while watching the video above will reveal a sound similar to the noise produced by the Mercedes-AMG GT’s 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, albeit it was louder than the standard. Since we already have the Mercedes-AMG GT S, we initially suspected that the teaser might be about the production version of the Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Although our assumption is highly probable, the new photos released by the famous performance arm of Mercedes-Benz through its Facebook page suggest that it might be a different car. Judging from the images there, it might be the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe or the C63 S Coupe model, which carries the same engine found on the AMG GT.

It is hard to tell with the heavy camouflage of the mysterious car and the angle of the teaser pictures, but it might not be the Mercedes-AMG GT3 because the bulges do not show the extended front spoiler present in the GT3 road car. It also lacked the typical narrow side vents of the Mercedes-AMG GT—the part where its engine type is indicated.

Furthermore, the hood of the mysterious car appeared to be shorter than the one present in the AMG GT. The headlights and the nose are huge giveaways too that the auto might be the upcoming Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe.

Check out the photos released by Mercedes-AMG via Facebook in the gallery below. See for yourself if the car it is referring to in its teaser video released earlier is indeed the C63 S Coupe.
