The Mercedes-AMG GT S races against the Eurostar train from London to Cannes.

The Mercedes-AMG GT S is really fast. How fast? Check out its video as it sped around the Circuit of the Americas shortly after its world debut. It was like a cruise missile zooming to its target. We have also featured other videos of the car taking on other sports cars like the Porsche 911, wherein it emerged victorious against its rivals.

Now what happens when it is pitted against a train in a race from London to Cannes? We are not just talking of any regular train here because it is a Eurostar.

Check out the video below to find out if the Mercedes-AMG GT S can reach its destination faster than the train:

And the Winner Is… (Spoiler Warning)

The Mercedes-AMG GT S driven by Dominic Tobin of The Sunday Times reached Cannes first. His colleague who rode the train, Joe Dunn, came 20 minutes after the arrival of Tobin.

It should be noted though that the car driver left more than an hour earlier than the one on train. There were several hiccups experienced by the two along the way as well.

For the Mercedes-AMG GT S driver, he would have to avoid traffic jams, make precise turns, deal with environmental elements, follow traffic rules, hold his bladder, conserve fuel, and all the hassles that come with long hours of driving.

Fortunately for Tobin, Dunn had his share of bad luck when his train got delayed along the way, making him miss his connecting trip and handing the Mercedes-AMG GT S the win.
