Facelifted Versions Of The Mercedes-Benz EQA And EQB Captured On Cam
Giancarlo Perlas March 2, 2023Versions of the Mercedes EQA and EQB electric vehicles (EVs) were recently spotted testing with some minor camouflage. This could only mean that the models are already due for a mid-cycle refresh despite only having been introduced two years ago.
As we have been accustomed to, the concealed areas suggest the portions where the updates will be positioned. With this in mind, the spy shots from Carscoops show that both models will receive subtle exterior design changes, including revised front and rear bumpers, redesigned front grille, updated headlights and taillights, and new alloy wheels. Inside, the vehicles are expected to have major upgrades in their infotainment system and possibly some improvements in their driver assistance features.
The EQA is a crossover SUV that’s unfortunately not offered in the US. In Europe, it is available in 250, 250+, 300, and 350 variants. It has an electric motor capable of outputs ranging from 140 kW to 215 kW. Meanwhile, its 66.5 kWh battery pack has a WLTP electric range of 230 miles.
On the other hand, the EQB is also available starting from 250+ trim in the European region, but it is only sold in 300 to 350 trims in the US. The output and range of the EQB reflect the same values found in the EQA.
The facelifted models will likely mirror the powertrain offerings of their outgoing versions. There are sources telling us though that their range might be enhanced to go up to 250 miles.
Both models are part of Mercedes’ larger push into the EV market. However, with reports that the German automaker will soon phase out its EQ range, it’s possible that the models discussed here will be absorbed by the core lineups of the brand, namely the GLA and GLB.
