Mercedes-AMG EQS Edition 1 Unveiled in Digital Rendering

Giancarlo Perlas June 11, 2021

Even before the Mercedes-Benz EQS made its world premiere, its maker revealed that they are already working on its high-performance variant. Following that, spy shots of a partially camouflaged Mercedes-AMG EQS surfaced online to further tease the upcoming electric vehicle.

We are still a long way from the official unveiling of the EV, but taking hints from the spy shots, statements of Mercedes, and the platform of the car, ElectricVehicleWeb.in came up with its artistic rendering. The artist calls it the Mercedes-AMG EQS Edition 1.

Although AMG is no longer a stranger to EVs since it already made the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive and the hybrid Mercedes-AMG Project One, the EQ range is entirely new territory for them. So one of the things that we were curious about is how it will integrate its signature accessories into the EQS, particularly its sporty Panamericana front grille with vertical slats.

Since the EQS doesn’t need a radiator grille, EVW integrated the AMG signature styling smoothly via faux vertical fins. The digital artist also fitted the AMG EQS Edition 1 a pair of huge air inlets on the flanks to complete its sporty look. Lastly, it was finished with two-tone paint with red and gold highlights, and equipped with light-alloy wheels wrapped in sports tires.

Mercedes is still mum on the output of the AMG EQS but we expect it to reach up to 751 hp. That’s good for a 0 to 62 mph run in just 3 seconds and a max speed of 155 mph.
