1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL with Only 20K Mileage For Sale

Giancarlo Perlas February 21, 2018

Are you looking to score big on a classic 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL (R107)?  One unit of the car just happens to be on sale, and the best thing about it is that it only has 20K mileage.

In the ad of auction site Bring A Trailer, the car has no reserve price. That means it will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the figures it fetched on the auction. As of this moment, it already accumulated $28,000. It is due to be awarded to the highest bidder in six days.

The car has an exterior with smoke silver finish. Then the surfaces of its cabin are wrapped in Brazil brown leather. The removable hard top of the car is still the original from the factory. On the other hand, the soft top of the auto comes in brown. Furthermore, the alloy wheels of the vehicle measure 15-inch each and wrapped in Hankook Mileage Plus tires.

Popping the hood of the SL will reveal an unmodified 5.6-liter M117 V8 engine. It is paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The seller of the 1989 SL is Dean Laumbach. He is located in New Jersey. The seller claims that the car has seen regular servicing. It is offered with its original manuals, VMI report, clean Carfax, and Ohio title under the previous owner’s name but signed over to the dealer.

The seller also said that the car shows no traces of accidents or bodywork. However, the auction site noted that there seems to be an evidence of paintwork on the trunk and the portion behind the soft-top cover. It was likely made to repair the scrapes left over by the removal of the convertible’s hard top.
