Mercedes AMG Channel Celebrates 2M Views with Thank You Video

In celebration of hitting the 2 million video view mark, the official Mercedes AMG YouTube channel released a special thank you video. While the rationale for having a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe drift haphazardly through some Laguna Seca corners escapes us, it’s a nice little showcase of the raw power and ability of the C63.

The reception to the video hasn’t been very warm, with just over 32,000 views as of the time this article was written. Some commenters even pointed out that the video could have been much, much better if better angles or better editing could have been used. Still, at least the channel went out of its way to produce a video at a high-profile track, and it’s at the famous Corkscrew turn nonetheless.

Having thank you videos such as this one is a testament to how much social media is important for businesses. They thank fans for helping spread the word about the brand and its products, and the fans get more goodies (a.k.a. videos) to whet their appetite.

Anyway, don’t forget to watch the video and tell us what you think.

Moreover, the coupe is equipped with the AMG SPEED SHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission that has RECE START function, intermediate gas and four driving modes that helps in rapid gear changes.

Since the new policy allows wider tires, the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series has Dunlop Sport Maxx Race tires measuring 255/35 R 19 in front, 285/30 R 19 at the back wrapped around a matte black painted AMG wheels.

Inside, the car is no different than its production counterpart, although some has been altered in order to meet the guidelines of the race. For example, four point belts are used, instead of the normal seat belts. A radio system and a TV monitor are also inside to help the driver during the race. The dash is also slightly different, with more buttons and flashing lights to help in the operation of the light beams and the LED flashing lights on top of the car.

It’s official – Singaporeans love Mercedes-Benz. And it shows, as the country’s dealership sales grew by 8.9 percent from January to March this year compared to the 1st quarter last year.

That’s 7,510 cars sold in just three months. And an 18.4 percent market share according to Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. It’s no wonder that anywhere you go in this country, you’ll come across dozens of cars carrying the three-pointed star logo.

Daimler Southeast Asia refuses to comment. However, Mercedes-Benz’s rivals in the region admit that sales have been awesome for the brand’s C180 Kompressor. They also think that 2nd placer BMW, the country’s hottest selling luxury car brand back in 2011, is hot on Mercedes-Benz’s tail, along with Toyota in third spot.

It’s worthwhile noting that Toyota reigned supreme in Singapore for nine years straight before being toppled by Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen last year.

Mercedes-Benz also has Audi to watch closely as well.

In the meantime, it looks like Singaporeans are huge fans of Mercedes-Benz at the moment. We’ll see how the rest of the year goes for the company.
