Sales of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG have started in the UK market. The price tag of the high-performance compact vehicle starts at around £37,800. The first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered by August and potential owners can already start to order the vehicle in Great Britain. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG features a 2.0-liter turbo-charged four cylinder engine that offers 360HP of power and 450Nm of torque. The compact AMG is capable of reaching 62mph within 4.6 seconds. Daimler is said to be eyeing joint car production with Nissan in Mexico, according to reports. It seems the German company is looking into various options to get production of certain Mercedes-Benz cars, such as the A-Class, through Nissan facilities in the country. According to a Daimler official who wishes to remain anonymous, the joint production in Mexico has a good chance of pushing through. Mercedes-Benz continued the trend of growth during the month of May 2013, selling a total of 121,360 units last month that accounts for a 7.3% increase year-over-year. In addition, the automaker also posted a record 562,824 units sold in the year to date, a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Strong performance in the NAFTA region as well as in Europe and Asia are considered the biggest drivers in this growth, and the compact cars and SUV models are the primary breadwinners for the Stuttgart-based company. Before the 24-hour Nurburgring event last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on an awesome demonstration of what their Formula One car is capable of. The demo pitted Michael Schumacher in a Mercedes-Benz F1 race car against four AMG variants of the brand in a game of “catch up”. The variants included were the A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series and SLS AMG GT3. In a follow up report, the A-Class hatchback is finally lunched in India. According to the India-based The Economic Times, the debut of the new class in the country took place in a Mumbai showroom. The price of the new car is at Rs 21.93 lakh (approximately $39,000) up to Rs 22.73 lakh (estimated as $40,000). The most fuel efficient in the variant is the one equipped with 2.2-liter diesel engine, which is priced Rs 21.93 lakh.
