What Is Mercedes-Benz Offering For The Future?

Giancarlo Perlas June 5, 2016

Mercedes-Benz reporter Torie Campbell makes a convincing case on why the future is actually nearer than we think. She took a look at the i-Mobility fair in Stuttgart, where Mercedes features the various e-mobility systems and technologies they are offering.

The 8:46 video on YouTube showed the future of cars as Mercedes sees it. Campbell rode a prototype to feel the interior of a car on an e-mobility platform. Can you imagine your car windows flashing photos of where you’re headed? It’s a 360-degree turn for the e-mobility as it literally boosts the car’s interiors.

Alexander Mankowsky, Future Studies and Ideation Daimler AG, explained that the primary aim of the e-mobility system is to make clients comfortable and allow them to customize the insides of their own vehicles.

He also hailed the importance of allowing information and entertainment to play a primary role in the comfort and luxury of one’s car.

But what makes the future of Mercedes cars more exciting is “The Sphere.” Campbell took part in the driving simulator. The Sphere is actually a system that even allows the driver to check out certain establishments near the road/highway you’re driving on.

You can even check out what the restaurant looks like inside, especially if you happen to have a reservation there.

Pretty neat, right?

Ola Kallenius of Mercedes’ marketing and sales department said that the future of cars depend on autonomous driving and these i-mobility platforms that allow a completely luxurious experience.

Of course, Merc’s end goal is the boom in electric vehicles, and a zero emission in the future.
