Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC Breaks Rules

Giancarlo Perlas June 4, 2016

Imagine going 381 horsepower with a maximum torque of 485 Nm. Such power allows a car to go 0-to-100 mph in just 4.2 seconds. This is what the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC promises to bring on the table.

When Merc released its promotional video for the A 45, it shows the operability, aerodynamics and powerful performance of the world’s most powerful four-cylinder passenger car engine in the world.

The 1:25 video showed the A 45 as it gets driven out of a garage and around a city. But more than the power and the speed, the A 45 boasts of having “more” in terms of aesthetics, styling and even fuel consumption.

With a top speed of 270 km/h, it’s a bit of a wonder how the A 45 happened to have a pretty impressive fuel consumption rating. The A 45 looks at achieving a 7.3-6.9 1/100 km in its fuel savings.

But aside from what you’ll find under the hood, we’re also quite excited about the AMG all-wheel drive, four AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes and the AMG Ride Control sports suspension.

Physically, what sets the Mercedes-AMG A 45 apart is the new A-wing design that sports four vertical fins and a spoiler lip in the rear apron diffuser. This unique design brings a personality distinct to the AMG A 45.

Inside, only the best materials touch the skin of the AMG A 45. It has a sporty design that features a new AMG instrument cluster and appointments made of DINAMICA microfiber with red contrast topstitching.
