2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Winter Testing Spy Video

Giancarlo Perlas January 27, 2021

The spy shots of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class have been going around a lot online since last year. Since we last saw it around November last year, the car has already shed a lot of its camouflage, which hints that its unveiling must be coming soon. Recently, the best-selling sedan of the three-pointed star marque was spotted again while undergoing winter testing, and here’s a video showing its near-production version.

The next-generation W206 series now only has its front and rear ends covered in zebra camo. However, the peeking portions of the headlamps, as well as its bulges, hint at a narrower design. These suggest that the auto might be getting the same lights found in the S-Class flagship car. The front grille appears to be wider too. Moreover, the taillights will likely follow the horizontal design of the new generation of Mercedes cars. Meanwhile, the exposed areas of the vehicle show cleaner and smoother surfaces with mild creases, which again reflects the current “Sensual Purity” design language of its brand.

Going inside, the interior will also adopt a tablet-sized central touchscreen integrated into the dashboard similar to the S-Class based on the leaks we got from its Estate version.

The upcoming regular C-Class trims are expected to carry variations of Mercedes’ 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. The high-performance versions due for 2022 release, including the rumored Mercedes-AMG C53 and topped by the C63, will each have a mild-hybrid setup to boost their outputs.

Following the sedan version of the C-Class will be Estate and All-Terrain variants.
