Mercedes-Benz X-Class Gets Tuned To An Almost G-Class Form

In the past two years since Mercedes-Benz came out with the X-Class, we’ve seen some modifications of this utilitarian vehicle. Based on the platform of the Nissan Navara, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class was a bit underwhelming design-wise because everyone was expecting it to be a more rugged version of the G-Class 4×4². Fortunately, German tuner delta4x4 decided to develop a package that can turn the X-Class into an off-road-ready machine. This is the same company that showed its beefy Mercedes G-Class last month. This time, the package is tailored to the X-Class. The tuner can jack up the body and increase the suspension travel to make the pickup truck more competent… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz is now facing a possible government investigation over reports that the German luxury carmaker uses its location sensors to track and repossess vehicles when drivers fail to make payments on time. This raised privacy concern in the United Kingdom, which prompted at least one politician to call for a government investigation into the issue. Location sensors or car trackers are installed in almost all new vehicles in Europe. They are used in the event of a crash. But lately, it was found out that Mercedes might be activating these trackers to find the cars and repossess them when their drivers fail to make payments. A report from CNN Business… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz Might Join Ford, BMW In Supporting Tougher Emissions Rules In California

Although Mercedes-Benz has not released its official statement yet, a report by The New York Times hinted that Mercedes may be the fifth automaker to agree to California’s tougher emission rules. Four other car manufacturers—Ford, BMW, Volkswagen, and Honda—already pledged to see through California’s emission standards by making their engines more efficient every year until 2026. The move comes as a protest against the Trump administration’s plan to roll back former US President Barack Obama’s emission reduction goals. The same report said that California is not the only one enforcing the tougher emissions rules. Thirteen other states plan to stick to their current emissions regulations to meet the 2026 goals…. To do this, the tuner has to give the vehicle larger turbochargers for its 4.0-liter V8 engine. The larger turbochargers come also with a modified exhaust system and a remapped ECU.
