2016 BMW 750i vs 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550

Giancarlo Perlas May 24, 2016

When we think about German engineering, there are two brands that come to mind—BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Historically, the two have butted heads over which is the better performer and which is more elegant. When you think about BMW, you’d want to get your hands on the M3. For the Mercedes, the S-Class tops the cake, and the S550 is said to be the most elegant coupe out there.

On a head-to-head comparison, Mercedes tops BMW two out of seven times. Although known for providing advanced driving experience, the BMW has never really went over Mercedes in terms of elegance. When it comes to sophistication, Mercedes has always work the crown.

But for this particular competition, BMW has seemed to win over Mercedes in terms of speed. The 15:24 video uploaded on YouTube spoke exhaustively about the features of the two cars. Both received a number of updates on the exterior, but Mercedes wins this round because of its elegance and gorgeous aesthetics, thanks to new headlights and larger front grille.

Both car experts believe the Mercedes, overall, looks much better primarily because of the larger vents on the front grille. It made the S550 look larger than the 750i when it’s actually not.

Bringing these two cars against each other is quite unfair, the experts said by the end of the video. The BMW used cutting-edge technology in its interior while the Mercedes stay true to its tradition of classic lines and elegant body.

In the end, it all depends on what your preference is. The BMW would appeal to the younger crowd while the Mercedes would certainly be more suitable to older (and richer) clientele.
