The Mercedes-Benz GLC Hits Dealerships in China

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is now available in China. According to the CarNewsChina website, the price range of the SUV is at 396,000 and 579,000 yuan or $62,000 to $90,580. This GLC is locally-made by Beijing-Benz, a joint venture between Beijing Automotive Group and Daimler AG, wherein the companies own 50% each in its shares. It should be noted that the company used to make the GLK, the GLC’s predecessor, as well as the GLA. It also produces the China-exclusive long-wheelbase versions of the C-Class and the E-Class. Basically, it carries all the important components of the GLC found elsewhere. Mercedes-Benz GLC Production Ramped Up

In a new press release of Mercedes-Benz, the company revealed that it will be expanding its production facilities for the GLC. Currently, the SUV is produced in Bremen, Germany. Its production in the plant began in July this year. But starting 2017, the three-pointed star brand will also roll out the vehicle from Uusikaupunki, Finland. For the expansion, Mercedes contracted Valmet Automotive for the job. The Mercedes team capped off an immensely successful 2015 Formula One season by taking a 1-2 finish at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg completed his hat trick, taking the race win ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. The team surpassed its points tally from last year by 2 points, finishing with a whopping 703. Rosberg made good use of his sixth straight pole qualification, converting it into his third straight race win and sixth overall for the season. This is Mercedes’ 12th overall 1-2 finish this season, a fitting end to an otherwise anticlimactic final leg.
