Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe Upgraded Again By MEC Design
Peter Parcon October 16, 2014The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe was the subject of an upgrade by MEC Design earlier this year. Apparently, the German tuning specialist may not have been contented with its earlier upgrade as it modified another model of the luxury vehicle, according to a report from gtspirit.com. The upgrade provided for the S63 AMG Coupe was given the name “White Sugar.”
The luxury vehicle went through a number of cosmetic and performance upgrades that enhanced the S63 and set it apart from the standard S63 AMG Coupe model. MEC Design started its upgrade with the wheels and tires before working on the suspension and exhaust system.
The S63 AMG Coupe was given 22×9.5 CC5 alloy wheels in front while the rear was provided 22×11 CC5 alloy wheels from MEC Design. The wheels, which featured a matte black finish and gloss black lips, were clad in 265 and 305 tires respectively. The suspension was also lowered while a stainless steel sports exhaust system featuring valve control was also added by MEC Design. The exhaust systems offered by MEC Design for its upgrades normally have great-sounding names such as Earthquake and Apocalypse.
The evolutionary approach utilized by MEC Design for the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe indicates that a body kit may follow after this initial upgrade. The body kits are also expected to feature additional details once they are released. The 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine of the S63 AMG Coupe, which offers 577 HP of power and 664-lb-ft of torque, continues to be utilized. The engine allows the luxury vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph within 3.9 seconds. It has a maximum speed of 185 mph.
The luxury two-door Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe was also given an ECO Mode deactivation system along with a television system and floor mats carrying the MEC brand.
