1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster Sells $9.6M

The 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster, which was put on sale by RM Auctions Sotheby’s a few days ago, was finally sold. The pre-war car with only 10,277 miles in its odometer fetched a whopping $9.9 million price tag last Friday. The cost of the classic car beat the previous record set in Arizona. The said record was held by the same seller for a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM worth $9.6 million, based on WZZM13. Despite the expensive tag, the 1937 Mercedes failed to reach its expected price of $10 million to $13 million. When the lineup of VITT Squalo was unveiled during the Tokyo Auto Salon, it did not include the VITT Mercedes-Benz S-Class. However, it appears the latest images of the S-Class were released by the tuner recently, as shown on a report from motorward.com. These Images show the S-Class clad in a set of Grado wheels. Even as this particular VITT-tuned S-Class was revealed in the past, it did not feature the Grado wheels, which were also shown being used on the SL63 styling kit of the tuner. Remco Meulendijk recently made his own interpretation of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63, as indicated through an autoevolution.com report. The 2017 E-Class was unveiled by the Stuttgart-based company during the North American International Auto Show, which was held in Detroit. However, the mid-sized sedan was yet to be revealed by the German luxury vehicle manufacturer.
