2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV Displays Its Off-Road Prowess

Giancarlo Perlas April 13, 2023

The Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV has been the top-selling Benz worldwide for two consecutive years, and its newest model for the 2023 season is highly anticipated. With the market shift towards sustainable efficiency, the three-pointed star marque has made some significant changes to its newest model. The video here highlights the performance of the SUV, particularly its GLC 400e Hybrid variant.

Exterior

While the previous model had swooping lines and curves, the newest GLC features a more aerodynamic and adventurous design. So far, it remains an attractive vehicle with a distinct Mercedes look that follows the Sensual Purity design philosophy.

Interior

The new GLC’s interior is a blend of classic high-end materials, such as wood and leather, with modern digital features and creature comforts. The ergonomic design aims to create a seamless transition from the old-school Mercedes world to the future of software and clean-air-driven vehicles.

Powertrain

Gone are the six- and eight-cylinder engines, as the 2023 GLC features a hybridized 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The new GLC is designed to have more power and torque with reduced energy consumption and emissions.

Performance

The GLC 200d and 400d models are no longer available, but the new GLC features two petrol-fed PHEVs rated at 313 and 381bhp, and the 300de, which boasts 335bhp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The new models have four-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The GLC 400e featured here comes packing 381 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque. The numbers are good for letting the auto sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds on its way to a max speed of 147 mph.

As shown here, the figures are enough to let the hybrid vehicle conquer rough terrains without even equipping it with chunky off-road tires!

Final Thoughts

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC aims to be a transformation tool, bridging the gap between the old-school Mercedes world and the future of software and clean-air-driven vehicles. Overall, it’s a vehicle that packs a punch while being environmentally friendly at the same time.
