Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Convertible Teased For Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Giancarlo Perlas August 9, 2017

The 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance marks the arrival of the all-new Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Convertible. A teaser of the concept car was teased before its official unveiling.

The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 made its debut during the same event last year. The unit is expected to be a standalone car that will not have a Mercedes-Benz counterpart. It should be similar to the treatment of the Mercedes-AMG GT series.

The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 features an electric motor capable of producing up to 550 kW. The design of the car showcases the “sensual purity” design philosophy of Mercedes-Benz. Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Daimler AG, described the concept EV as both “hot and cool” because it combines the emotional design and intelligent elements.

The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 has an elongated body, which has both futuristic and sexy traits. The car does away with the body lines and indentations on its surfaces. Instead of those, the designer of the vehicle replaced them with sweeping angles that allow the more masterful play of light and shadows in its environment.

According to reports, the teaser released by Mercedes suggests a convertible version of the Vision 6. Looking at the video, the claims of the sources are very likely. The teaser only focused on showing the lower parts and interior of the auto. That could only mean that the real surprise may come on the top portion of the car.

For now, let’s keep a look out for more updates until the official unveiling of the auto in Pebble Beach on August 20, 2017.
