Brabus announced that its sport package for the smart fortwo will be rolled out in the United States of America this fall. According to a source, the famous Mercedes tuner’s new package will be available for the coupe and cabrio models of Daimler’s smart brand.

The Brabus sport package for the fortwo may not be at par with the upgrades the tuner provides Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG units, but it sure does offer decent mechanical and styling upgrades to the compact smart car. The add-on costs $1,900.

The package includes a sports suspension. The kit brings down the ride height of the car by 0.4-inch. In addition, the anti-roll bar of the auto has been tightened while its damping system has been reconfigured. The report said that the latter might give the vehicle various spring rates and enhanced shock absorbers. The extras provide the car better handling down the road, improved dynamics, and more comfortable way of driving.

The sports suspension is complemented by a new set of wheels. Brabus installed Monoblock IX alloy wheels for the fortwo. The front wheels measure 16 inches while the rear ones are 17 inches. These are wrapped in Yokohama summer performance tires with sizes 185/50/R16 for the front while the rear wheels get 205/40/R17.

Among the other upgrades are new Brabus logos replacing the smart logos, rear diffuser, spoiler, and custom-finish rear apron. Inside, the car also gets the signature three-spoke steering wheel of Brabus, sports pedals with rubber grips, and paddle shifts for customers who will opt for the Twinamic transmission system.
