Where Does Mercedes-Benz Rank Among the Popular Car Brands in Facebook?

Mercedes-Benz is the most popular car brand with Facebook fans.

Mercedes-Benz is the most popular car brand on Facebook. That’s according to a study made by Auto Insurance Center, which is based on the “likes” each automotive brand is receiving on the social media platform.

The company used the data derived from the 114 million Facebook fans of the 23 most popular car brands in the world to come up with the result. From the information it acquired, it found out that Mercedes-Benz gained the most “likes” with 19.4 million. Second is BMW with 18.9 million while falling in the third place is Ferrari with 16.2 million. Audi, one of the strong competitors of Mercedes in the luxury car segment, fell in the eighth place with only nine million likes.

The source reminded that Facebook “likes” do not automatically translate to sales. However, these reflect the success of Mercedes in terms of gaining exposure and awareness of its products.

As we all know, the brand is known for its innovative campaigns when it comes to its advertisements, and most of them are aimed at social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The company’s high visibility in these platforms are important in this digital era, especially in Facebook where an estimated 84% of its users are car buyers.

It is interesting to note that the report also tackled the preferences of specific fans based on age, social status, occupation, and industry where they belong. Among the other findings related to Mercedes were the following:

  • Only 23% of Mercedes-Benz Facebook fans are female.
  • Mercedes fans are some of the richest; 73% earns an annual income of $50k or higher.
  • It’s a rarity to find a Benz fan listed as ‘in a relationship’ on Facebook, yet Mercedes-Benz is one of the top 5 car brands for families with children.
