Mercedes S-Class and Ferrari F12berlinetta Crash

A very expensive car crash occurred a while ago in the streets of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province. The incident involved what appears to be a 2014 Mercedes S-Class and a Ferrari F12berlinetta.

According to a report from CarNewsChina, the wet road condition is the primary factor that caused the accident. Allegedly, the Ferrari was on the road when an elderly woman suddenly crossed the street. As a result, the driver of the Ferrari supercar was forced to hit on the brakes hard which made the vehicle spin 180 degrees before crashing into a nearby Mercedes S-Class.

The source quoted the Ningbo media’s assessment on the damages. It said that the damage on the supercar is estimated to be around a million yuan or roughly $170,000. Well, that’s already worth more than the starting price of the Mercedes-Benz it hit and the upcoming 2015 Mercedes S-Class Coupe which will be launched this March. On the other hand, there was no word on the damages caused to the Mercedes-Benz but we expect it to be expensive as well.

The report noted that the new F12berlinetta costs around 5.308 million yuan or approximately $835,000. It is equipped with a 6.8-liter V8 engine with an output of 560 hp and 650 nm torque. It’s top speed is set at 317 km/h and it can go from zero to 100 km/h in just a span of 3.8 seconds.

Man Fined $280 After Being Pulled Over Driving a Fake Mercedes

On the other part of China, in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, a man named Zhou was fined around $280 for driving a fake Mercedes bearing no plates. In addition, his car was impounded and his license was confiscated for the absence of plate numbers in his car and for illegally modifying his vehicle.

Based on a report by Reuters, Zhou modified a BYD car to resemble a Mercedes-Benz. The car came complete with the brand’s signature emblems and hood ornament.

The man later admitted that he customized his car that way so that he can appear successful to his relatives and friends.
