Bremen plant launches production of new C-Class station wagon

Last weekend, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class station wagon that was unveiled at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt/Main celebrated its production launch at the plant. The first vehicle rolled off the assembly line during the Friday night shift. “As our employees successfully mastered the launch of the new C-Class sedan last March, they are well prepared to also bring the station wagon version onto the road in top quality,” said Peter Schabert, head of the plant. The predecessor of the new C-Class station wagon was phased out at the end of May. Formula 1 Grand Prix in Spa

This past week was just a disaster for the Mclaren Mercedes team; first the fine and points loss, and now the dissapointing finish by Alonso and Hamilton at the GP in Belgium. I don’t know about you, but it was somewhat of a dull race on Sunday without any real action other than the start. The start: Fernando and Lewis started from places three and four. They were in the same positions after the opening lap. The race: Fernando came in for his first pit stop on lap 15 (9.5sec) and resumed in fifth place. Lewis pitted one lap later (9.6sec). McLaren stripped of points and fined $100m

You’ve all probably heard about the FIA World Council decision regarding the espionage case involving Mclaren Mercedes and Ferrari. After months of investigation and hearings, FIA has allegedly found enough evidence that involves Mclaren Mercedes in the espionage; they have fined the team a staggering 100 million dollars and have stripped them from all constructor points. The team is pleading innocent of course and will fight to overturn the verdict. One thing that frustrates me is the fact that they are punishing the team collectively and are not going after the individual people itself. On September 17, the teamWorx/UFA film production company and the media company Gruner +Jahr media will launch FLOADED www.FLOADED.com, a completely new type of Web platform in Germany. Loaded Film Entertainment (FLOADED) will show high-quality short films featuring brand presence and interactive functions. Mercedes-Benz will become the first brand to partner with the innovative advertising platform when the site launches a short film called “The Illusive” – an amusing parody inspired by an imaginary account of the automaker’s everyday activities.
