The Mercedes-Benz Actros will be shown as a hook at the New Munich Trade Fair Center from May 7 to May 11, 2012. The Actros is the 2012 Truck of the Year, and because Mercedes-Benz in not the company to settle and be complacent, they enhanced the truck even more. With a Meiller and Palfinger hook lift, it is now an epitome of dynamics and comfort in a long-distance truck variant. You can find it, together with other Mercedes cars, in Hall C4.

Mercedes’ unstoppable Unimog has once again captured the hearts and minds of a group of truck and special vehicle users by garnering the best cross-country vehicle of the year award in Germany. “Off-road”, a trade magazine that has been conducting a poll for such vehicles for more than two decades announced the results a few weeks ago. The award to the Unimog was the result of getting 34% from more than 57,000 votes. More than 140 vehicle choices were on the poll and the results are specially gratifying, given that the Unimog has been a perennial winner for the past several years. A nice video made in cooperation with Jung von Matt, the leading ad agency of Daimler, shows the Actros as a taxi to show its harshest critics what are its benefits. It passed by Volvo and MAN and picked up passengers from their offices. The result was impressive, not surprisingly, because the “employees” of the competitors seem to like what they saw inside the Mercedes truck. People at the Munich airport were also fascinated by the “taxi truck”, who wouldn’t be?
For years, car companies have been using the aerodynamic technology in cars, however, no one has done anything for trailers yet. As of present, trailers are like oven toasters with wheels. Mercedes-Benz knows the need for a trailer designed with a front airdam, rear diffuser, rear end special design and lateral panels. Which are found in the Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer. The three star brand also figures that the trailer can travel at 150,000km per year and the fuel consumption will be reduced by 5%. Agritechnica will happen on November 15 to 19 in Hannover, it is an exhibition of agricultural machinery from different parts of the country and the world. Along with other 2,600 exhibitors, Mercedes-Benz will also take part in the event, showcasing not only Mercedes truck, but three. The other one even premiering there, the Mercedes Zetros. The two other vehicles are the Unimog U 500 with agricultural logistics with hydraulic power and grain tipper and the Unimog 5000 with Dammann body-mounted sprayer. Mercedes-Benz Bank is introducing a new insurance policy for the new Actros. For the first time a policy will depend on how the truck will be used. For example, if the Actros is being used for light loads and lowland areas, the insurance premiums that will be collected is 60% lower than a truck that is being used for heavy loads and in hilly areas. The information will be collected and calculated by a telematics system called FleetBoard. This insurance policy covers liability and insurance protection for all trucks equipped with FleetBoard.
