The New Actros Hook Lift at the Munich Trade Fair

The Mercedes-Benz Actros will be shown as a hook at the New Munich Trade Fair Center from May 7 to May 11, 2012. The Actros is the 2012 Truck of the Year, and because Mercedes-Benz in not the company to settle and be complacent, they enhanced the truck even more. With a Meiller and Palfinger hook lift, it is now an epitome of dynamics and comfort in a long-distance truck variant. You can find it, together with other Mercedes cars, in Hall C4.

In Germany, Unimog Garners Best Vehicle Award – Again

Mercedes’ unstoppable Unimog has once again captured the hearts and minds of a group of truck and special vehicle users by garnering the best cross-country vehicle of the year award in Germany. “Off-road”, a trade magazine that has been conducting a poll for such vehicles for more than two decades announced the results a few weeks ago. The award to the Unimog was the result of getting 34% from more than 57,000 votes. More than 140 vehicle choices were on the poll and the results are specially gratifying, given that the Unimog has been a perennial winner for the past several years. Video: Actros as a Taxi?

A nice video made in cooperation with Jung von Matt, the leading ad agency of Daimler, shows the Actros as a taxi to show its harshest critics what are its benefits. It passed by Volvo and MAN and picked up passengers from their offices. The result was impressive, not surprisingly, because the “employees” of the competitors seem to like what they saw inside the Mercedes truck. People at the Munich airport were also fascinated by the “taxi truck”, who wouldn’t be?

Concept for a Trailer? The Mercedes Aero Trailer

For years, car companies have been using the aerodynamic technology in cars, however, no one has done anything for trailers yet. As of present, trailers are like oven toasters with wheels. Mercedes-Benz knows the need for a trailer designed with a front airdam, rear diffuser, rear end special design and lateral panels. Which are found in the Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer. The three star brand also figures that the trailer can travel at 150,000km per year and the fuel consumption will be reduced by 5%.
