Mercedes F1 Finishes 5th And 7th At The Bahrain GP

The 2024 Formula 1 season kicked off with yet another major win for Red Bull with a one-two finish. Despite displaying a promising showing during the start of the practices and a P3 advantage in the qualifying, Mercedes F1 finished the first race of the year in the 5th and 7th places. Bahrain GP: Hamilton, Bottas finish in podium but Vettel secures win

The 2017 Bahrain GP was surely fruitful for Mercedes. The team did, after all, see Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas finish in second and third place, respectively. However, it’s disappointing for the team to see Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari take home the race victory. Bottas started from pole and managed to hold off Vettel at the start, but eventually finished 20 seconds out of the top spot. Hamilton made a play for it late in the game but could not catch Vettel, who took the victory 6.6 seconds ahead of Hamilton to take the lead in the drivers’ standings. Mercedes’ Hamilton prevails in duel with Rosberg at the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix

One second was the difference between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in a duel of the two Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 drivers at the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix. It looks increasingly likely that we will see more of this head-to-head battle between the two teammates, but Mercedes has to be happy with the team’s second one-two finish in as many races.
