Giancarlo Perlas September 6, 2023

The three-pointed star marque is all set to level up its luxury station wagon game with the introduction of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain. This new-generation model unveiled early this week combines sophistication, cutting-edge technology, and an eco-friendly powertrain.

Key Features of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain

Here’s a quick look at the impressive features that make this car stand out based on the press release of Mercedes-Benz USA:

Innovative Technology

The 2024 E-Class All-Terrain continues to push the envelope further in terms of tech. Standard in the cabin of the vehicle are two large displays, including a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.4-inch touchscreen with the MBUX infotainment system, providing easy access to the key navigation, safety, entertainment, and comfort elements of the auto. There’s also an optional 12.3-inch display that can be fitted for the indulgence of the front passenger.

For tech enthusiasts, this wagon offers the perfect playground. In a nod to modern convenience and security, Mercedes-Benz introduces the digital vehicle key. Compatible with iPhones and Apple Watches, this innovation allows drivers to start, unlock, and lock the E-Class All-Terrain using their devices. Key sharing, with support for up to 16 people, adds another layer of functionality and security.

Meanwhile, the central display hosts a range of third-party apps, including popular ones like TikTok and Angry Birds. Passengers can even stream videos and play games while the car is in motion. Furthermore, drivers can use video conferencing tools like Zoom when the vehicle is parked, making it not just a means of transportation but a mobile office.

The only question is: Do you really need all of these?

Luxurious Design

The vehicle’s exterior and interior exude a distinctive character. From the unique front grille to the dark grey wheel arch cladding and chrome underride guard, the E-Class All-Terrain showcases an unmistakably rugged appearance than its standard Estate version.

Inside, AMG stainless steel sports pedals and All-Terrain logo-adorned floor mats underscore its off-road prowess. Additionally, it exudes opulence with its rich-looking leather and tasteful metal switchgear. Then, the ambient lighting wraps around the dashboard create an ambiance that is both soothing and visually striking. There’s even an optional package that synchronizes the ambient lighting with the rhythm of your music, thanks to the Burmester surround-sound system.

Passenger comfort has not been overlooked. The new E-Class All-Terrain is wider and longer than its predecessor, resulting in more spacious rear seating. With a 0.87-inch longer wheelbase and increased elbow room, rear passengers are treated to a new level of convenience.

Hybrid Powertrain

Under the hood, the 2024 E-Class All-Terrain showcases its commitment to efficiency and sustainability. It features the E450 sedan’s hybrid powertrain, providing both power and efficiency. The 3.0-liter turbo inline-six engine, complemented by an electric motor, delivers a combined output of 375 horsepower, which is a substantial increase from the previous model.

This powertrain doesn’t just offer a boost in performance but also contributes to a quieter and smoother ride, even at high speeds. With 369 pound-feet of torque, you’ll experience seamless acceleration, making it an ideal companion for long journeys or quick city drives.

Air Suspension for Smoother Ride

One of the standout features of the 2024 E-Class All-Terrain is its standard Airmatic single-chamber air suspension. This system not only elevates the vehicle’s ground clearance but also offers continuously adjustable damping for the shock absorbers, enhancing both comfort and off-road capability.

For better performance, the car can lower itself by 0.6 inches when speeds exceed 75 mph, reducing wind resistance and improving fuel efficiency. This feature showcases the German automaker’s attention to detail, making every aspect of the driving experience enjoyable and efficient.

Final Thoughts on the New E-Class All-Terrain

Once again, Mercedes-Benz sets a new benchmark for what a luxury wagon can be in the newly unveiled E-Class All-Terrain. While pricing details are yet to be officially released, we anticipate that this exceptional vehicle will start around $78,000 when it arrives at US dealerships in 2024.
