Half-Year Mercedes-Benz Sales Break Company Record
Giancarlo Perlas July 9, 2017The luxury division of Daimler continues its success when it comes to vehicle deliveries to customers. From January to June of 2017, Mercedes-Benz sales broke the records it set within the company during the previous years.
According to Daimler, the early half-year Mercedes-Benz sales of 2017 increased by 13.7% compared to the performance of the brand in the same period of last year. The overall sales of its luxury vehicles in the first six months of the current year numbered up to 1,144,274 units.
The performance of Mercedes-Benz sales in June was also higher than the figures displayed in the same month of 2016. The brand sold 209,309 units last month, which was 11.1% up based on a year-on-year comparison.
China was the country that accounted most sales in June with 50,090 units delivered to customers. The sales of the country was up by a staggering 28.3% compared to June 2016. The giant Asian nation also topped the rankings in sales from January to June with 292,679 vehicles sold. The half year sales of Mercedes in the Chinese market rose by a whopping 34.5% compared to the same time of last year.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class remains as the best-selling car of the brand. In the first half of 2017, 210,000 units of the vehicle was delivered to customers. The sales of the C-Class was further boosted by its strong demand in China, particularly its long-wheelbase models.
Not far behind the C-Class was the E-Class with total sales of its Saloon, Estate, Cabriolet, Coupe and All-Terrain models amounting to 181,940 units from the start of the year to June. Lastly, Mercedes delivered 385,044 SUVs to buyers in the same duration.
