In preparation for the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Mercedes may have contracted RENNtech for some “fine” tuning of their new GLK model. We are still not sure what exactly they will do to the GLK, but according to Modified Luxury & Exotics, it will be a Pikes Peak inspired GLK. This will be RENNtech’s first ever performance modified hybrid powertrain. A company spokesperson confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is already pulling the plug off the Metris van after the release of its 2023 model year units. The move could mean the end of production for the gas-fed Sprinter, too. According to Car and Driver, this information was officially confirmed to them through email. However, the people at GAD Motors found out that its engine bay is big enough to house AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, and that’s where this story gets more interesting.
