1970 Mercedes-Benz W111 Gets a Modern AMG Engine Transplant

The Mercedes-Benz W111 is definitely one of the darlings in restomodding. One of the leading companies that specialize in such projects is Mechatronik, and here’s another one of its works. Outside, the 1970 W111 still possesses its pristine shine. Going inside reveals the same leather covers on the interior upholstery, floor carpeting, floor mats, analog indicators, buttons, switches, levers, classic steering wheel, and cassette player found in the car when it came out in the bell-bottoms jeans era. It’s like being in another time inside the W111 until one starts its engine and drives off with it. That’s because the 3.5-liter V8 engine of the car with around 200 hp… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter City 75 Is The Minibus of the Year 2019

Mercedes-Benz’s Sprinter City 75 was awarded Minibus of the Year 2019 after impressing an international specialist jury at this year’s Minibus Euro Test in Madrid. The jury was won over by the vehicle’s impressive amount of space and numerous technological features. Journalists were quick to point out the fact that the German automaker managed to create space for up to 38 passengers, thanks to the new high-load rear axle. Space was ergonomic and used as efficiently as possible, they noted. Till Oberwörder, head of Daimler Buses and chairman of the board of management of EvoBus GmbH, said the company is very happy with the award and that it proves that… Continue Reading »

Tuned Mercedes-Benz X-Class Combines Ruggedness with Opulence

Being a pickup truck, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is imposing due to its muscular look. However, an unnamed Turkish tuner was able to fit the vehicle with several cosmetic upgrades, which put a touch of opulence to its rugged looks. What we have here is a Mercedes-Benz X250d pickup. This particular unit features a black body paint but some of its key areas like the radiator grille, bumper, bull bar, fenders, roof rack, roll cage, side mirror caps and wheels offer a contrasting gold finish. The bull bar of the X-Class shows auxiliary headlamps fixed into it while the roof is fitted with LED lights. A winch can also be found… Continue Reading »

Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, said that the new CLA 35 is an “attractive offer for a young, active and lifestyle-conscious target group.” The four-door coupe maintains its wide wheel arches and slim sporty waistline. There are two powerdomes on the bonnet for the sporty feel while the new radiator grille has classic twin louvres and the AMG Line front apron… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-AMG E53 Coupe Offers Greener Performance Boost

We have been so used to Mercedes-AMG offering big muscular engines in its vehicles but now, the German automaker’s performance arm is offering its E53 coupe as a greener and more approachable alternative to its traditional big-powered engines. Mercedes cars with the 53 badge will be equipped with 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engines with electric assist. Models with this engine will sit below the already existing AMG 63 models in terms of price and performance. Worried that the E53 coupe does not deserve the AMG label? Mercedes claims it’s still worthy of being manufactured under the performance arm and that it is powerful enough to compete with other cars in the… Continue Reading »

Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB To Be All-Electric

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB, which will probably change its name to EQB, will have an all-electric powertrain, thanks to a bunch of spy photos that showed the boxy crossover with an “Electric” sticker on the windshield. While we have seen spy shots of the new GLB before, those all focused on the interior, so we’re glad we’re finally able to see how this will look like from the outside. With its boxy proportions, we’re sure that it’ll be fun and exciting to drive. The “Electric” warning on the windshield was not intended to be a teaser of some sorts. Rather, it gives potential first responders a warning of a possible… Continue Reading »

New Mercedes-Benz A-Class Body Kit Up For Grabs From RevoZport

RevoZport is finally ready to show off its newest body kit for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class called the RZA-290 body kit. The package was intensively developed and designed for six months and will turn the German executive car into an even sleeker and cooler sedan with a moderate performance upgrade. The 3D images shown by RevoZport to have the RZA-290 body kit featured a Mercedes-Benz A250 hatchback that’s equipped with the AMG Line Package. The package itself adds AMG-enhanced design details for a more athletic feel. It includes a polished chrome cross-strut, a deep front air dam, flared side sills and rear valence, a color-keyed diffuser insert, and 18- or 19-inch… Continue Reading »
