Rosberg capitalizes on Hamilton’s slow start, wins Italian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the first time in four races, but fellow Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg capitalized on a slow start to secure the win at the 2016 Italian Grand Prix. With the win, Rosberg’s second in a row, he moves within 2 points of Hamilton in the drivers’ standings. This is Rosberg’s seventh win this season, which is one more than Hamilton’s total. Nico Rosberg is back on his winning ways. The German bagged the victory in the recently concluded Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. However, it was his partner who really showed a very impressive performance. Rosberg started with a pole position in Belgium, which gave him a huge advantage in the race. Daimler announced that Nico Rosberg finally got his contract extension under its Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The company revealed that Mercedes and the German driver closed a two-extension in the latter’s contract. British Grand Prix: Hamilton qualifies in pole ahead of Mercedes front row

Add one more Mercedes front-row qualification to this year’s list. Lewis Hamilton drove a superb qualifying at the British Grand Prix as he edged out Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg for pole position. Hamilton posted a time of 1:29.287, around a third of a second better than Rosberg’s, for his third-straight pole and his sixth overall this season.
