Top 3 Features of the New Mercedes-Benz GLB Compact SUV Concept

When the plans for the Mercedes-Benz GLB surfaced, we were expecting a baby G-Class. However, when the photos and specifications of the concept vehicle were unveiled ahead of its scheduled debut at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, it wasn’t the case. Nevertheless, we are now looking at the fresh take of the German automaker of what a rugged sport utility vehicle should look like, and it’s actually better than what we expected. 1. Exterior The Concept GLB is classified as a compact SUV, yet it its overall appearance is muscular. It has a long wheelbase measuring 2,829 millimeters too. In addition, the auto benefits from the clear and clean surface… Continue Reading »

A Peek Inside the Cockpit of the Mercedes-Benz GLB

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB was spied once more. The recent spy shots of the auto also reveal its interior. According to Motor Trend, the new spy shots of the GLB were taken at a fuel stop in Sweden. It should be noted that the country has been the venue for Mercedes’ winter testing for its upcoming vehicles. The new GLB unit is not that different than its earlier spy shots. It is still heavily wrapped in zebra camouflage with its front grille and lights peeking from the covers. We featured a snap of the vehicle’s interior in our previous post, but the new pictures of the auto here give us… Continue Reading »

Inside Look at the Mercedes-Benz GLB

New spy shots reveal the interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLB. As expected, the crossover is inheriting many elements found in the cabin of the A-Class hatchback and sedan. The interior photos of the GLB featured at Carscoops did not surprise us a bit. We are not complaining though because the tech and detailing of the A-Class’ cockpit are excellent, considering that the range is positioned at the bottom of the Mercedes luxury cars hierarchy. Although there are some black fabrics covering the side panels and dashboard of the GLB, we can see the same steering, infotainments system, controls and turbine-looking air conditioning vents of the A-Class. The interior rear shots… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz GLB Spied Towing a Trailer

The Mercedes-Benz GLB was once again spied on the road. The new spy video shows a fleet of the vehicle with trailers in tow. Except for the trailer, the GLB here shows no significant updates compared to the old sightings of the sport utility vehicle. It remains heavily covered in a black and white wrap. Even the windows along the C-pillars are hidden. What we know so far is that the GLB will be using the next-generation Modular Front-Drive Architecture, which is also referred to as the MFA2. It should be noted that both the A-Class and B-Class ride on the same platform too. The mind-boggling question in the video… Continue Reading »

New Spy Shots Reveal More Stuff About the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB compact crossover SUV has been spotted in prototype form with most of its camouflage gear gone. In this variant, Mercedes is already competing with its GLA, but the GLB is the bigger and more rugged offering with styling that’s been influenced by the brand’s larger SUVs. It is worth noting, though, that the GLB won’t be the mini G-Class we were all hoping for. Rather, it is based on the Ener-G-Force concept that was unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles auto show. There were reasons, of course, why we thought this would be another GLA-styled SUV as engineers previously used the makeshift body of a GLA… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz GLB Crossover Caught Testing in the Ring

The Mercedes-Benz GLB is almost ready for next year. The crossover utility vehicle (CUV) was recently caught on cam while undergoing testing at the Nurburgring track in Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The new images of the GLB featured in Autoblog still show the crossover in a heavy zebra camouflage just like in our previous spy shots and video. However, there are noticeably developments on the prototype’s exterior compared to its older version. Design The GLB is gradually taking its final form with its more defined front. The auto now sports the present twin-horizontal bar styling of other Mercedes-Benz SUVs on its radiator grille. The bars, including the center where the logo… Continue Reading »

More Spy Shots of the Mercedes-Benz GLB Found Online

Last May, we have seen the new Mercedes-Benz GLB, the GLS and the EQC in a single spy video. Recently, a series of spy shots provided us a better look at the GLB crossover. Will Utilize the MFA2 Platform Based on the spy photos from Motor1, the upcoming GLB almost looks like the next-generation GLA. That should not come as a surprise because both are using the MFA2 platform of Mercedes. It should be noted that the same architecture is used by the coming A-Class and B-Class. However, looking closely at both the GLB and the GLA would reveal that the former has a more utilitarian look. With that, the GLB is… Continue Reading »
