Smart ForTwo Cabriolet Unveiled Through Photos

The Smart ForTwo may not be within the level of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class or other models of the brand for that matter, but it seems to be joining the cabrio craze this month. This September, the compact car division of Daimler will be unveiling its Smart ForTwo Cabriolet. The top-down smart car will make its debut alongside the more grand, heavily-hyped Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet. Then its sale will commence in February next year. According to the press release of the company, the upcoming Smart ForTwo Cabriolet measures 2.69 meters long, 1.66 meters wide, and 1.55 meters high. Check Out This Awesome Parade of Smart Cars

A huge gathering of smart car owners was recently conducted at Hungaroring in an event called Smarttimes 2015. The autos were displayed and even paraded all over the Formula One race track. We are not sure how many participated in the event, but it was definitely a lot looking at the pictures taken by MB Passion. Based on photo above and the gallery below, there might be more than a hundred of them. The types of smart cars featured in the gathering were the Fortwo and Forfour. NYPD Replaces Scooters with the Smart ForTwo Cars

Last month it was revealed that the New York City Police Department has been testing the Smart ForTwo. According to Business Insider, NYPD is planning to include the compact vehicle into its fleet in order to replace its aging three-wheel Cushman scooter units. The report said the Department decided to shift to the Smart car because of the comfort it can bring to its occupant. Compared to the scooter, the car will offer heating, air conditioning and one more seating capacity. The very ambitious project, currently branded as the “Apple Car” by reports, is apparently being developed by the Cupertino-based company to compete in the electric cars segment of the market where Daimler’s Smart cars belong. Mercedes-Benz and Smart Start the Year with High Sales

Daimler AG, through its Mercedes-Benz and Smart brands, started 2015 on a high note. The group displayed impressive sales this January compared to the same month of the previous year. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the two brands showed a double-digit increase in January sales on a year-on-year comparison. The sales of the Mercedes-Benz marque grew by 15 percent compared to its performance in the same month of last year. The company attributed the strong figures to the continued growth of demand primarily in the Chinese region. It noted that U.S., Europe and Russia also showed a significant spike in the record books. Smart ForTwo Disney Edition Available Only in Japan

If you happened to be in Japan and you are a huge Mickey Mouse fan, you will find it interesting that Smart, through its Brabus tailor-made program, recently released its Disney Edition for the ForTwo. What makes this one different from the other Smart ForTwo units is that carries the same color patterns as Disney’s iconic character, Mickey Mouse. The Smart ForTwo Disney Edition uses a combination of four colors associated with the famous mouse. Yellow was used for the car’s mirrors, black for its tridion cell, white for its wheels, and red for its body. Inside are leather seats embroidered with the “edition Disney” logo.
