Crossover Teaser Shows MLC To Start Production In 2015

When Mercedes-Benz CEO Dieter Zetsche announced the other day that 2015 would see the launch of several new models, he didn’t give a clear idea of what those models would be.  Now, a teaser from Mercedes-Benz has revealed that one of the new models will be a crossover vehicle called the MLC.Although the teaser pic does shows a crossover-type vehicle, the sloping rear contour for the roof is reminiscent of the CLS, and, dare we say, BMW’s X6? M-Class Based MLC To Battle BMW’s X6

In a move that will cause rival BMW more than a few sleepless nights, Mercedes-Benz is being reported as moving forward with a new coupe crossover model that will bang heads squarely against the dismal-looking X6. Tentatively known as the MLC, this model will be built upon the M-Class platform, with the vehicle’s profile taking cues from Mercedes successful CLS styling. Insider tip: GLC crossover in the works?

Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, but when it’s as tantalizing as this bit of news, you might want to sprinkle a little pepper as well. Mercedes-Benz is supposedly preparing a crossover model to refresh their already impressive lineup of vehicles.
