Mercedes S-Class A Class Leader In Luxury Segment

Few will argue that the Mercedes S-Class is a class leader when it comes to the luxury segment. Few cars have the combination of performance, safety, luxury and status that comes with an S-Class. Sure, there are a few marques that are a cut above the S-Class in terms of sheer luxury appointments, but fall flat in twisty roads or fail miserably in impact tests. And there is no better indicator of how well-regarded the S-Class is when you look back on recent history and see how it cannibalized sales from Maybach. With the upcoming S-Class, you would think that customers for Mercedes’ flagship would hold off on purchases of… Continue Reading »

Replacement fortwo Loses Its Renault Diesel

Back in late 2010, it was reported that Daimler and Renault-Nissan had signed an agreement to share drivetrains, with the agreement seeming to benefit the French-Japanese alliance more, as they would have had access to AMG’s engines. But other reports then came to light that Daimler’s smart division would be using Renaults miserly turbodiesel for the replacement fortwo. This is not to be, however, as a British magazine says that Renault has reportedly backed out of the deal. That the French car industry is in the doldrums is not news anymore, and so it’s not surprising to learn that the reason Renault is giving is a more restrictive R&D budget…. Continue Reading »

However, Christmas and Thanksgiving are among the lowest holiday thefts with only 1,347 and 1,526 cases respectively. According to The Car Connection website, this may be due to the fact that these holidays… Continue Reading »
