Hamilton to open 2017 F1 season in pole position

Lewis Hamilton will be in pole position to kick off the 2017 F1 season. The Mercedes driver won a tight qualifying which saw Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel take P2 (with a time of 1:22.456) and new Silver Arrows driver Valtteri Bottas claim P3 (1:22.481). Hamilton clocked 1:22.188, a mere 0.268 ahead of Vettel, while Bottas was just a shade behind P2 with a 0.025 difference between himself and the Ferrari. One Million Mercedes-Benz Units Recalled

Daimler made an announcement that one million units of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be recalled worldwide. That was after the company discovered that some models are at risk of catching fire because of a potentially defective fuse. According to Reuters, 51 fires were already reported by Mercedes owners globally, and the culprit was a faulty fuse. The company bearing the three-pointed star mark cleared out though that no injuries or deaths were recorded during those incidents. Of the one million vehicles set for recall, 307, 629 units were in the United States of America. Mercedes-Benz Sales Display 18% Growth in January 2017

Mercedes-Benz sales started out strong in the month of January 2017. The three-pointed star brand continued its momentum this year after overtaking its rival BMW in the premium car segment in 2016. According to Daimler, Mercedes-Benz sales reached the 178,467 mark in January. The figure translates to an increase of 18 percent in premium vehicle sales compared to the same month of last year. After a very fruitful year with Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team since 2013, Paddy Lowe is reportedly preparing for his jump to Williams Racing F1 team for the 2017 season. Mercedes-Benz USA Sales Went Down 3% in Q1

Mercedes-Benz USA just released its sales report for the month of March. According to the press release of company, it sold 28,164 luxury vehicles in the month that just ended. The figures tally up for a total of 75,769 for the first quarter of the year. Overall, the first quarter Mercedes-Benz USA sales went down by three percent compared to the same period in 2015.
