Classic Mercedes-Benz 320 Shows What Ambulances Were Like In The 1930s

We’ve seen Mercedes-Benz make ambulances out of its Sprinter, Metris, and other van models, and they’re almost like a hospital on wheels. However, there was a time when ambulance services were handled differently, which can be seen in this particular Mercedes-Benz 320 that dates back to the 1930s. The Mercedes 320 here is one of the latest additions of the German brand in its museum. Despite its very luxurious looks even for its time, this once served as an ambulance. This is a good reference point as to how far we’ve gone in healthcare services. Initially, you will easily see what is lacking in this classic Mercedes ambulance. It does… Continue Reading »

Sacrilegious or Genius? Tuner Swaps Mercedes Sprinter Engine with a BMW Diesel

The Mercedes Sprinter enjoys a high level of popularity especially in the U.S. because of its reliability and versatility. Aside from its use in shipping products and transporting passengers, we have seen its transformation into mobile offices, luxury campers, and other builds. Recently, a Polish tuner unveiled a very unique take on the cab version of the Sprinter by jamming a BMW engine into it. Some may see this as sacrilegious, knowing that Mercedes and BMW are head-to-head in the luxury car market, while some see it as pure genius as the tuning work imbued more power to the van. Mercedes-Benz Pulling the Plug Off the Metris Van

A company spokesperson confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is already pulling the plug off the Metris van after the release of its 2023 model year units. The move could mean the end of production for the gas-fed Sprinter, too. According to Car and Driver, this information was officially confirmed to them through email. The report cited the falling sales of the Metris in the U.S. as the reason for the axing. It added that most buyers are opting for the more spacious Sprinter over the Metris. Meanwhile, others who are into smaller vans prefer the more affordable ones offered by competitors such as the Ford Transit Connect. The source noted that Mercedes… Continue Reading »

Mercedes-Benz V-Class Vs Exotic Cars in a Drag Race

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is just “meh” in its stock configuration. It only gets exciting when it is tuned for SEMA or turned into an RV. However, the people at GAD Motors found out that its engine bay is big enough to house AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, and that’s where this story gets more interesting. Recently, GAD installed a handcrafted AMG M117 engine in the van to boost its output from 190 hp to 585 hp. It’s the same unit possessed by the AMG C 63, E 63, GT 63, and G63. Then it received carbon-ceramic brakes to improve its braking, especially at high speeds. The suspension system of the auto… Continue Reading »
