Hamilton dominates Italian GP at head of Mercedes 1-2

No one can touch Lewis Hamilton right now. The Mercedes driver won the 2017 Italian GP in dominant fashion, and his teammate Valtteri Bottas took care of business and helped secure a 1-2 finish for the team. This makes it back-to-back wins for Hamilton—his first in 2017. More importantly, it puts him in the drivers’ championship race lead for the first time this season. Hamilton wins Belgian GP; Bottas fifth

Lewis Hamilton proved unstoppable at the Belgian GP, taking the win despite a tremendous challenge put forth by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. The other Mercedes car of Valtteri Bottas finished in fifth place. Hamilton owned F1’s first weekend back from its mid-season break. He took his 68th career pole position in qualifying, tying Michael Schumacher’s record. Then he led for most of the rice after taking the lead off the line. Hamilton takes pole at Belgium, matches Schumacher record

Lewis Hamilton took pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix—his 68th—and in doing so, has tied the Michael Schumacher record for most poles in a career. Hamilton will start ahead of Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel, who headed into the mid-season break still leading the drivers’ championship race. Heading into the summer break, Lewis Hamilton would find himself still trailing in the Formula 1 championship race. Mercedes DTM Announces Exit After 2018 Season

Mercedes-AMG just announced that it will exit the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters or DTM after the 2018 season. However, the three-pointed star brand confirmed its entry into Formula E. According to Motorsport.com, the move of Mercedes DTM would mean that only two constructors will be left in the sport by 2019. Currently, Mercedes is only rivaled by Audi and BMW in DTM. Hamilton wins 2017 British Grand Prix to tie record

Lewis Hamilton won the 2017 British Grand Prix for a record-tying fifth time as Ferrari met with bad luck at the end of the race, helping the Mercedes driver close in considerably on Sebastian Vettel’s lead in the points.
