The vehicle was designed by Jeremy Scott, an internationally-acclaimed fashion designer. Only a limited number will be offered into the market and production will start within the month. Washington car2go Celebrates First Year of Service

The Washington, D.C. branch of Daimler’s car2go car-sharing service is celebrating its first year this month, a year marked by 19,000 registrations, and over 350,000 rides on the 350 smart fortwo units that members can use throughout the city. Over the past year, car2go Washington has added 150 new fortwo units in order to keep up with the demand. In addition, the branch has partnered with Washington, D.C.-based taxi booking and payment app myTaxi. Now, through the car2go app, D.C. members can not only search for smart fortwo car2go units, they can also book  a cab ride. There have been 18,000 registrations over those first 3 months, showing that the city has embraced the point-to-point carsharing program with open arms. The flame yellow body panels and black accents are sure to make the car a hit among smart enthusiasts and those simply looking for a cool, eco-friendly ride. Sources inside Mercedes-Benz disclosed that the new model of the Smart Fortwo will feature a one-and-a-half box design instead of the current single-box profile, once it enters the market next year.
