Mercedes-Benz passes million-car sales mark in July

Here’s one more indicator of just how much success Mercedes-Benz is enjoying in 2015: in July, the German automaker has just passed the 1-million mark for cars sold so far this year. To be more specific, Mercedes-Benz has sold 1,048,178 vehicles as of the end of July 2015. That number plus smart car sales adds up to 1,119,629 units. “Never before have we delivered so many cars to customers in the first seven months of a year,” stated Mercedes-Benz Cars marketing and sales chief Ola Källenius. NYPD Replaces Scooters with the Smart ForTwo Cars

Last month it was revealed that the New York City Police Department has been testing the Smart ForTwo. According to Business Insider, NYPD is planning to include the compact vehicle into its fleet in order to replace its aging three-wheel Cushman scooter units. The report said the Department decided to shift to the Smart car because of the comfort it can bring to its occupant. Compared to the scooter, the car will offer heating, air conditioning and one more seating capacity. Mercedes-Benz and Smart Start the Year with High Sales

Daimler AG, through its Mercedes-Benz and Smart brands, started 2015 on a high note. The group displayed impressive sales this January compared to the same month of the previous year. According to a Wall Street Journal report, the two brands showed a double-digit increase in January sales on a year-on-year comparison. One of the key selling points of the Smart Fortwo is its ultra-durable tridion safety cell. BMW Catches Up with Mercedes-Benz in U.S. Sales

The Mercedes-Benz CLA remains as the best-selling range of the three-pointed star brand. BMW finally caught with Mercedes-Benz in U.S. sales. According to Automotive News, the change in trend was influenced by the cheaper models and fashionable crossover vehicles of the three-pointed star brand’s rival.
