Get a Load of This Sarto Racing Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Kit

Sarto Racing released a photo of its new work with the Mercedes-Benz CLK, which can be seen above. The tuner unveiled its package on its Facebook page a couple of days ago. No information has been provided by the tuner about the car in their social media page. They are yet to feature it in their site too, so we can only speculate about the key highlights of their new product based on what we can see in the picture. Looking at the image above, the car is most likely based on the 2008 Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series. From that, they fitted it with their wide body kit, which included massive fenders, revised racing bumpers… Continue Reading »

A very rare Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster has been confirmed to hit the auction block soon. According to Motor Authority, the race car featured in the picture above will be sold by Bonhams to the highest bidder in one of its events that will be held at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June. The source claimed Bonhams is expecting the car to fetch around $2.2 million to $2.8 million. So what makes it that expensive? The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster is just one of the six units ever produced by the three-pointed star brand. There are at least 20 of these that were released as coupes, but the roofless ones… Continue Reading »

New C-Class rounding the Nurburgring

It’s been a while since we last wrote about the facelifted C-Class. Well, here’s the saloon variant making rounds on infamous Nurburgring. In case you’re wondering, this is the track that gave the new CLS is first ever recorded crash, as well as the SLS AMG GT3’s first fiasco on a track on its racing debut. You can see that this test car has been lightly disguised to reveal subtle visual enhancements up front, most notably taking cues from the brand-new E-Class range—the headlamps, the well-contoured bonnet and the redesigned bumper. Now, if you peek at the rear end, you’ll find even less enhancements, limited to the bumper and the… Continue Reading »

BYD goes from steal Mercedes-Benz designs to working with them

It’s no secret that the Chinese are masters at producing cheap knockoffs; everything from fashion to electronics, and recently even cars. Just like Gucci or Prada, Mercedes-Benz is one of the brands that is often copied. The one copy that stands out the most, and is probably the best one, is a copy of a CLK Cabrio. It’s from BYD (Build Your Dreams), yes that is correct, the same BYD that Mercedes-Benz has entered into a partnership with to produce electric vehicles in China. It’s very interesting to see that a manufacturer like Mercedes-Benz has chosen to work with them instead of suing their ass off (like that would have… Continue Reading »

No New Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG?!?

Word the web is that Mercedes-Benz will not build a replacement for the CLK63 AMG. Mercedes says that it doesn’t plan on producing an AMG version of the now called E-Class Coupe, stating that positioning is the problem. An Insider told Autocar at the New York Auto Show that a new version of the CLK63 would be too close to the CLS63 AMG, both in price and positioning – which they say might lead to sales cannibalization. The new E-Class is now being built on the E-Class platform, where as the CLK was built on the C-Class platform. This will also have an impact on any successor to the CLK… Continue Reading »

Exclusive Spy Shots of the Next-Gen E-Class Coupe Exterior and Interior

We’ve received exclusive spy shots of the next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe from our very own spy photographer and “Insider”. You’ve seen dozens of such sighting in the past, but I don’t believe we’ve seen pictures of the car this close and (shall we say) personal. In this round of spy shots, we not only get to see the exterior in plain sight, but a glimpse into the interior. The Mercedes interior emblems have been removed, as is customary in test vehicles, but we’re still able to see the rest of the dashboard, steering wheels as well as the shift knob. Our Insider has also confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is close to… Continue Reading »
